The Norwegian singer, music producer and activist, Deeyah, has launched a website in remembrance of the victims of honour killings.

Called MEMINI, the site invites messages, tributes and thoughts to remember the victims – both known and unknown.

The aim is to ensure that, by remembering these victims, the site defies the intent of their murderers and that their memories live on forever.

MEMINI’s hope is that, by telling their stories, “shame fall where it is deserved: on the murderers who stood in judgment of innocence”.

It is an ongoing project, which will continue to include content and the organisers hope others will help in submitting cases of honour killings that they may come across.

It urges anyone who might have known any of these women to contact them with any information, photos or memories they want to add and share on the site.

MEMINI is an entirely volunteer driven initiative dedicated to keeping the memory of these women alive.
